Elective Rotations for Medical Students
Medical students interested in rotating at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital can expect to participate in a clinical team to provide patient care. There will be plenty of opportunity for hands-on experience.
Located in Jackson, Michigan, Henry Ford Jackson Hospital has a varied and diverse patient population. Rotators can expect to see a wide range of both common and rare conditions. Henry Ford Jackson Hospital has residency programs in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry & Transitional Year. Rotators can expect to work alongside residents and faculty on many rotations and participate in residency didactics. Henry Ford Jackson Hospital blends the personable feel of a community hospital with the extensive clinical resources of the world-renowned Henry Ford Health.
Henry Ford Jackson Hospital uses AAMC, Visiting Student Learning Opportunity “VSLO” (formally known as VSAS) for all elective applications.

Dress Code
All students must wear white jackets. Male students should wear a dress shirt and tie. Female students should wear a professional-looking blouse and slacks. Exceptions to this rule will be made only when a student is on a service that requires wearing scrubs.

Length of Services
Henry Ford Jackson Hospital has the flexibility to offer two or four week rotations. Rotations are limited to two for visiting students with only one during our recruitment season.

Obtaining Schedules and Reporting for Duty
The student schedule may include weekends, nights and H&P assignments. Schedules will be provided by the preceptors/office staff. The first day of your rotation you will be scheduled for an orientation that will include badging & various computer training. This will be scheduled by the Student Coordinator and details will be emailed to you the week before your rotation is set to begin.

International Medical Student Policy
