Program Mission:

The Henry Ford Jackson Hospital Psychiatry Residency’s goal is to raise awareness and improve mental health care in our community by training competent, curious, and compassionate psychiatrists who will recognize the significance that behavioral health is essential to overall health. The Psychiatry Program equips residents with the tools and expertise to confidently practice with the familiarity that promises dramatic change for our patients’ lives as well as create a path to greater career fulfillment for us as providers and plans to educate residents who can apply up to date knowledge of complex populations. We place clinical practice as our paramount goal with doctors capable of thriving as an innovative leader in a team-based environment. Additionally, we hope to inspire physicians whose training and experience prepares them to be able to integrate diverse data and theoretical concepts, incorporate current scientific research into daily practice and who can contribute to the academic community through the glance of clinical knowledge and expertise.
