Visiting Students

Students who are not base clerkship students of a Henry Ford Health location must use VSLO to apply for rotations. All necessary requirements are the same for each hospital and are listed on the website. Please make sure you are applying for the correct location as the VSLO system does not let us interchange applications once they are made to a particular place. Medical Student Start Dates 

Insurance
Personal health insurance is required for all students. Henry Ford Health does not accept liability for emergency health costs incurred by students during their rotation.  

Immunizations

• Annual Influenza Vaccination (required December 1 – April 30)
• Diphtheria/Tetanus - booster within ten (10) years
• Rubella live virus vaccination or positive titer
• Two live rubella vaccinations or one titer after one year of age
• Mumps live virus vaccination or a positive mumps titer
• Completed series of Hepatitis B vaccination
• Tuberculin-skin test within the last 12 months of starting rotation (Mantoux) TINE NOT ACCEPTED (Chest X-Ray required if positive)
• Chicken pox titer (blood drawn and documented)
• COVID vaccine is optional
