Virtual Care for Neurologic Conditions

Expert care from the comfort of your home

When it comes to managing a complex neurologic condition, we understand that staying connected to your doctor and care team is important. We are ready to provide safe and effective care no matter your diagnosis. Whether you are managing epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, or another neurologic condition, we are here for you where, when and how you need us.

We want to make it as easy as safe and possible for you to get the care you need. That’s why we offer virtual care options that allow you to see and talk with your neurologist without leaving home, including:

  • Online scheduled video visits with your doctor using your smartphone, tablet or computer
  • Telephone appointments with your doctor at a scheduled time.

How does virtual care work?

Most virtual care is provided online through MyChart video visits. During a video visit, you meet with your doctor at a scheduled time using your smartphone, tablet or computer using your MyChart account. It is completely secure and easy to use.

Video visits work exactly like Skype or FaceTime except that we use video software that protects your privacy in compliance with HIPAA regulations. You’ll be able to see and talk with your doctor through your device as is you were in the same room. You can talk about how you are feeling, discuss any concerns or ask questions like you would during a traditional in-office visit. See how a video visit works.

Depending on your diagnosis, symptoms or concerns discussed during your appointment, your doctor may ask you to come to the office for an exam or refer you for other services, including lab or other diagnostic tests. These services can be provided safely in any of our facilities. Your doctor may also refer you to a neurosurgeon or other specialist if needed.

Is virtual care right for me?

Virtual care is not an option for everyone, but for many it works well. Many patients enjoy the convenience and flexibility of having appointments from the comfort of their home or office. You may be a good candidate for virtual outpatient treatment if you:

  • Have a smartphone or a computer with a camera and Internet access
  • Are unable to leave the house or have difficulty traveling to our clinic for appointments
  • Live far away from your doctor’s clinic and would prefer not to travel

Unsure about using your smartphone or computer for a video visit? Call us! We will explain how it works and guide you every step of the way - the process is easy.

Are video visits covered by insurance?

The cost of a video visit or telephone appointment is the same as a regular specialty visit and is covered by many health plans. Please contact your insurance company to determine if your plan will cover this type of care. Depending on your insurance, you may be responsible for out-of-pocket expenses such as a copay or deductible.
