Hospital Standard Charges

As of January 1, 2021, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires that each hospital publish standard charges for all items and services provided to their patients; and provide a minimum of 300 estimates of “shoppable” services.

Henry Ford offers the opportunity to create an online, real-time estimate for many common procedures. Have your insurance information ready, along with the location where you plan to receive care when creating your estimate. Our Pricing team will be able to create an estimate that reflects your expected out-of-pocket cost based on your insurance benefits, or if uninsured, based on the Henry Ford Health uninsured discount policy.

While these documents provide a complete listing of all Henry Ford Health standard charges, they are not intended to provide an estimate of a patient’s out-of-pocket cost. Patients should not use the standard charges for estimating out-of-pocket cost.

A patient’s out-of-pocket cost is based on the negotiated rates agreed to between Henry Ford Health and its contracted payers, and a patient’s benefits and deductible status – see example below.
