Good nutrition is essential for patients’ healing and recovery. By helping to prepare, serve or deliver nutritious meals, you are helping patients get better. With your kindness and a smile, you help make their overall hospital experience a positive one. If your job is in the hospital cafeteria, you can have the same positive effect on staff and visitors.
Great patient care begins with a clean environment. The entire hospital or outpatient location must be free of germs that cause and spread infection. In this role, you make sure the tools, equipment and rooms our doctors and nurses use are disinfected and sanitized. While you are cleaning, you have an opportunity to ease a patient’s mind with a smile and a friendly conversation.
In this role, you help inpatients, outpatients and visitors arrive safely to their destinations. This includes doctor appointments, tests and imaging, patient rooms, operating rooms or the patient’s vehicle. By reporting any unusual changes in the patient during transport, you may even save lives.
