Volunteer at Henry Ford Hospital

You can make a difference

Our volunteers have the opportunity to learn, explore health careers, develop new skills, and most of all enjoy the satisfaction that comes from helping others.

Who are our volunteers?

Our volunteer family is a unique blend of community members. They include teens, college students, professionals, retirees, individuals looking for a career change, and people with time to give.

What do they do?

Some of the important things they do are: greet our guests with a smile and escort them to their destination, get a blanket for a patient who is feeling cold, conduct pet therapy visits, and support our staff by performing various clerical duties. We have many volunteer opportunities at Henry Ford Hospital, as well as many of our medical centers and other locations or at events happening around southeast Michigan.

When do they volunteer?

Volunteering fits into everyone's schedule. Volunteers can work any time of the day or night, any day of the week. The Volunteer Services Department asks that volunteers commit at least four hours a week. However, many eagerly volunteer much more because they love what they do and they love the people. We look forward to having you volunteer with us!

  • Volunteers must be 18 years of age unless enrolled in the summer program or given exemptions.
