Spiritual Care and Chapel

At Henry Ford Hospital, we care for your whole person, not just your illness. Chaplains provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, visitors and staff. Our chaplains are highly educated, clinically-trained, professional members of the patient care team. You may request a chaplain visit for yourself or for your loved while at Henry Ford Hospital. Please ask your nurse or call the Spiritual Care Department directly at (313) 916-2860

Supporting all beliefs

Chaplains help patients, visitors and staff of all religions and spiritualties to cope with illness and difficult circumstances.

Interfaith Chapel

The Cynthia & Edsel B. Ford III Interfaith Chapel is located on the first floor of the H Building between the Main Lobby and the West Pavilion. It is open 24/7 for quiet prayer and meditation.

Spiritual resources on patient education TV

Spiritual resources for major faith traditions are available on patient education TV, including audio versions of sacred scripture, teachings and prayers. In addition, nature meditations can be viewed on the Relaxation Channel, and the Chapel Channel broadcasts live services from the chapel. Ask for assistance if you have trouble accessing the programs.

Visiting clergy community

Clergy/faith leaders from all faith traditions are welcome to visit when members of their own organization request. No special badge is needed. Information about applying for a clergy parking card is available through the Spiritual Care Department.
