Resident Education

resident education 1
Interactive and FUN learning. Residents learning while playing Neurology Taboo!

As of academic year 2023-2024, we have transitioned into an Academic ½ Day (AHD) for our Neurology residents and away from the standard noon conference format of the past! We are one of the few neurology programs in the country that follow an AHD format. The AHD is held in-person, on Tuesdays between 12:30 and 4:30 PM. Residents are protected from clinical responsibilities during this time.

The AHD curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure it is (1) clinically relevant and (2) multi-directional and interactive. Faculty serve as facilitators for each academic ½ day.

Each academic ½ day has a specific format which consists of "Core" blocks (fixed weekly) and "Flex" blocks (varies week to week).

Below is a summary of the AHD format:

12:30 - 1:30 1 Core Continuum of Care  60 min  Solve clinical scenarios in teams using a Continuum article
1:30 - 2:00  2 Core Trials & Tribulations  30 min  Quick review of relevant clinical trials
2:00 -3:00 3
