At Henry Ford Health we are committed to innovation in every department — serving as a dynamic laboratory for researchers encouraged to dream big. Our 3,000+ active research projects aim to develop new cancer treatments, advance early diagnoses for diseases, discover solutions to racial and ethnic health disparities and much more.
In the spirit of creativity, our new and groundbreaking 30-year partnership with Michigan State University will expand our capacity to unlock new tools, techniques and treatments — and rapidly put them to work at the bedside.

Henry Ford + MSU Health Sciences Research CenterThrough our novel partnership we set our trajectory toward a bold vision – to discover and advance a new standard of health. We’re committed to working together with communities across the state to realize substantial change. Our 335,000-square foot research facility in Detroit, set to open in 2027, will further fuse our basic and translational research, serving as an epicenter for innovation and discovery, with a special focus on ending health disparities.
