About Patient and Family Advisory Councils

Patient Advisor

Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFAC) are a structured way to hear people’s feedback on research projects.

The Patient Engaged Research Center (PERC) aims to improve health outcomes through engaging individuals, families, community groups and healthcare providers in healthcare improvement and research. Being a Henry Ford patient is not required to be a participant advisor, only a shared passion for healthcare improvement for everyone.

The All of Us Research Program has an active council that meets bi-monthly with the Henry Ford research team.

If you're interested in joining our council, then please fill out an application below.

Becoming a Participant Advisor

Our team engages regularly with its 50+ council members to gather their feedback and ideas, both locally and for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Every other month, members come together for a 90-minute meeting, during which they can hear lectures from research experts, give feedback on protocol, and connect with other participants. Our PFAC council members help shape our communication and engagement strategies as well.

As a token of appreciation for their valuable input, advisors receive compensation for each online meeting they attend. In addition, some members have been selected to serve on NIH workgroups and councils, highlighting the program's significance and impact.

Fill out the application below to learn more and become a member of our council. We look forward to working with you!
