What is hematology?

Hematology is the study of disorders that affect the blood and related structures, such as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, lymph nodes, bone marrow and spleen.

Advancements in Hematology

Henry Ford Health is involved with multiple research studies evaluating the cause of various blood disorders and their management. These are done in collaboration with other institutions as well as NCI-designated cooperative groups and other research consortiums. These benefit patients with blood non-cancerous and cancerous blood disorders.

Hematology conditions and cancer treatment

All hematology disorder treatment at Henry Ford Health is coordinated through a collaborative team of hematologists (specialists who focus on disorders that affect the blood and related structures).
