Replacement therapy for hemophilia
Replacement therapy is the main treatment for patients with hemophilia. These therapies replace the clotting factor that is missing or low in a patient.
Our treatment options include:
- Immunosuppressant therapy for patients with acquired hemophilia, including:
- Steroids
- Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG)
- Certain chemotherapy drugs, such as:
- Cyclophosphamide
- Vincristine
- Rituximab
- Medications, including antifibrinolytics (drugs that facilitate clotting)
- Desmopressin (DDAVP) for patients with mild hemophilia, or von Willebrand disease
- Local clotting therapies, such as thrombin gel and fibrin glue
