Once we receive a referral from your Henry Ford provider, we review your medical records thoroughly. Next, we schedule an interview with you to learn about your concerns and issues. During the pre-testing period, also known as the clinical interview stage, we may interview your spouse or partner, as well as other family members who may be involved in your care. These appointments are 1 hour long and can be done either in person or virtually.
A neuropsychological evaluation can take between two to eight hours. The time can vary depending on your specific condition and age. This appointment is only in person.
You’ll complete several tasks on a computer and with pencil and paper in a quiet, one-on-one setting with one of our specially trained team members. We’ll test many different areas, including:
Once the evaluation is complete, you can go home.
We’ll add a copy of the results to your medical record and send you a copy in MyChart. We’re happy to schedule an appointment for you to see us either virtual or in person to review your report with our neuropsychology team. Your referring doctor will also discuss the results with you and use the report to help confirm or rule out potential diagnoses and determine an effective treatment plan.
