1980-1989

In 1985, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital developed its HomeCare program to provide skilled nursing, social work and therapy services to the homebound. The organization furthered its outreach efforts the next year with the purchase of a 48-bed hospital in the northern-most part of the county and with the opening of a store at Lakeside Mall.

In a Macomb Daily editorial during this same period, editors said the hospital had "adapted to the uninterrupted evolution of healing, moving steadily ahead from the age of the horse-drawn wagon to jet propulsion without missing a beat."

1985 - Comprehensive HomeCare program opens.

1986 - Henry Ford Macomb launches progressive health improvement program called Healthier Image with a store at Lakeside Mall.

1987 - Hospital acquires 48-bed Almont Community Hospital, now named North Macomb Health Center.
