Rotations and Faculty
Each year, 1 trainee will be selected, for a total of 5 residents in the five-year program. Here’s how your next 5 years looks:
PGY-1: Intern Year
- 6 months Otolaryngology
- 6 months: Plastic Surgery, Anesthesiology, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Neurosurgery, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery
- “Buddy” home call with senior residents when on Otolaryngology rotations
PGY-2: Junior Year
- 10 months with Lakeshore ENT, rotating with a variety of subspecialists including General Otolaryngology, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Otolaryngology, and Rhinology
- 2 months Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and Reconstruction at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI
PGY-3: Junior Year
- 4 months with Lakeshore ENT, rotating with a variety of subspecialists including General Otolaryngology, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Otolaryngology, and Rhinology
- 2 months Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and Reconstruction at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI
- 2 months of Pediatric Otolaryngology at University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital
- 2 months of Otology/Neurotology at world-renowned Michigan Ear Institute
- 1 month of Laryngology with Dr. Adam Rubin of the Lakeshore Professional Voice Center
- 1 month of dedicated research time
PGY-4: Senior Year
- 6 months as service chief with Lakeshore ENT, rotating with a variety of subspecialists including General Otolaryngology, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Otolaryngology, and Rhinology
- 2 months as service chief of Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and Reconstruction at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI
- 2 months of Otology/Neurotology at world-renowned Michigan Ear Institute
- 1 month of Laryngology with Dr. Adam Rubin of the Lakeshore Professional Voice Center

- 3 months of elective rotations
