The Division of Sleep Medicine offers a one year fellowship in Sleep Medicine to 3 fellows each year. The program is accredited by the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Our academic affiliation is with Michigan State University and Wayne State University. The fellowship program is integrated with the Henry Ford training programs for Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, and Otolaryngology. For additional pediatric sleep medicine training, there is an affiliation with Children's Hospital of Michigan, which is located nearby.

  • Opportunity to participate in CBT-I, ENT evaluations/hypoglossal nerve stimulator clinic, exposure to dental sleep medicine, and ALS/ hypoventilation clinic.

  • Weekly didactics sessions with a focus on basics science, clinical sleep medicine, case reports, board preparation sessions, journal clubs, and participation in practice-based learning and improvement activities such as M&M’s and peer review.

The Mission of the Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Henry Ford Sleep Disorders and Research Center is to train independent high-quality sleep medicine physicians who will impact people’s lives and communities through education and excellence in the practice and science of sleep health.

  • Training physicians with the best evidence-based medicine and clinical experiences that will allow them to provide outstanding care for all types of sleep disorders.
  • Provide the needed sleep-related research training that will allow them to pursue an academic career.
  • Training on cost-effective sleep medicine and exposure to the business aspects of our specialty to be successful in the clinical arena.
  • To create leaders in the field of sleep medicine and safety advocates for patients and the community.
