How Your Data Will be Used

Your health information can inform thousands of studies that researchers can use to learn more about what causes health and illness and to create more precise treatments. For example, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, the program already had thousands of samples on hand. And because of this, we were able to help with this important research.

All of Us tested blood samples collected during the time when the virus first started to appear in the U.S. The tests looked for antibodies against the virus that causes COVID-19. The results may help researchers learn more about the virus, its spread, and its impact. Learn more about our COVID19 Antibody Study.

Where Does Your Data Go?

Participant survey data is sent directly to a secure cloud-based database, managed by the All of Us Data and Research Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

We have partnered with the Mayo Clinic, to support the storage of blood and urine samples. Your name and other direct identifiers will be removed from all of the data and replaced with a code.

Big Data Means Big Results

Researchers will have access to an unprecedented amount of data that can lead to medical breakthroughs. By studying patterns in the data, researchers can begin to identify why people respond to treatments differently.

With this information, researchers could uncover which health approaches are best suited for each person.
