Michael Alfonsi MS, AT, ATC

Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University and his Master of Science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training from University of Toledo.

Michael has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2019. He is currently assisting Dr. Ramsey Shehab in Primary Care, Sports Medicine Clinic. Prior to assisting Dr. Shehab, Mike was serving as one of the Athletic Trainers for Lawrence Technological University. Michael is also certified as an American Red Cross BLS Instructor.

Michael’s previous assignments include Beaumont Health System where he was Athletic Trainer for Brother Rice High School. He also previously served as Athletic Trainer at Saint Francis de Sales High School. While receiving his masters at University of Toledo he worked as a Graduate Assistant with the baseball team. He also worked as Athletic Trainer for Empower Physical Therapy and Fitness.

Samantha Altamirano, MBA, AT, ATC

Samantha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Whitworth University and her Master of Business Administration from Bluffton University.

Alyssa Austin, MS, LAT, ATC

Alyssa earned her Bachelors from Edinboro University and her Masters from Grand View University. She is currently serving as an Athletic Trainer at Grass Lake High School.

Barnes Matthew 

Matt Barnes MAT, LAT, ATC

Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training and Pre-Physical Therapy from McMurray University and his Master of Athletic Training from University of Houston. Matt has certifications in Integrative Dry Needling, Graston Technique M-1, Myofascial Decompression, Kinesiotape, Dynamic Tape, and SFMA.

Matt has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2018. He is currently working as an Athletic Trainer for the Detroit Lions.

Previous assignments include Parkland High School as assistant Athletic Trainer. A seasonal intern for the Houston Texans and outreach Athletic Trainer for Memorial Hermann. Matt has worked with a variety of sports both organized and recreational. He volunteered as an Athletic Trainer for Iron Man Triathlon Races from 2012-2018.

Benedict Chris

Chris Benedict, AT, ATC

Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University.

Employed by Henry Ford Jackson Hospital since 2017, Chris is currently assigned to Spring Arbor University.

Prior to HFAH, Chris provided athletic training services to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the Jersey Surf World Class Drum and Bugle Corps and the Lansing United women’s team of the United Women’s Soccer League.

Jenn Benedict, DAT, AT, ATC

Jenn received her Bachelors in Health and Exercise Science from Spring Arbor University, her Master in Athletic Training from Manchester University, and her Doctorate of Athletic Training from Indiana State University.

Employed through Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, Jenn is currently assigned Western High School in Parma.

Prior to HFAH, Jenn was the head athletic trainer for the Jersey Surf World Class Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2018 season.

Rachel Blonde MAT, AT, ATC

Rachel earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Athletic Training degrees from Eastern Michigan University. She has been employed by Henry Ford Health since 2022. Rachel is currently serving as one of the Athletic Trainers for Lawrence Technological University. Rachel also completed her final clinical immersion at Henry Ford Health providing athletic training services at Lawrence Tech University.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Rachel served as an athletic training student and assisted with coverage for Eastern Michigan University’s Baseball, Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Track and Field, and Women’s Swim and Dive Teams. In addition to that, Rachel served as an athletic training student assisting with Novi High School Athletics.

Jeff Bord MS, AT, ATC, CSCS

Jeff completed his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a health promotion specialization from Michigan State University. He then continued his education by receiving his Master of Science in Exercise Science from Syracuse University where he also served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. Jeff has been a part of the Henry Ford Health athletic training staff since 2023 and provides athletic training services at University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Jeff was serving as head athletic trainer for the men’s & women’s cross country/track and field teams at University of Kansas. Rock Chalk Jayhawk! He also provided care at Villanova University for their cross country/track and field teams. In addition, Jeff is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Brock David

David Brock, AT, ATC

David received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University. He is an American Red Cross certified CPR and Basic Life Support Instructor.

Employed by Henry Ford Jackson Hospital since 2016, David is currently assigned to Spring Arbor University.

Prior to HFAH, David provided sports and rehabilitation services to Northwest High School and to the United States Olympic committee training facilities in both Colorado and San Diego.

Jenny Burnham MS, AT, ATC, CSCS

Jenny received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Alma College and her Master of Science in Exercise Science at Oakland University. She holds specialty certifications as a CSCS, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, SFMA Clinician, and XPS Certified Coach through EXOS.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2021, Jenny is currently assigned to Sport Performance Programming and provides oversight of the Henry Ford Health Physician Leagues.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Jenny provided sports medicine services at DMC-Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan where she served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Detroit City Football Club, had direct patient care at RIM, and designed and implemented return to play and sport performance programming. She was engaged in community collaborations with Detroit PAL, Sound Mind Sound Body, Boys and Girls Club of SE Detroit, Horatio Williams Foundation, and Detroit Public Schools. Jenny also previously held positions at Ascension Crittenton Hospital Medical Center in Rochester and interned with the WNBA Detroit Shock.

Katelyn Canterbury, BS, AT, ATC

Katelyn received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Adrian College.

Chapski Christina 

Christina Chapski, Ed.D., AT, ATC

Christina received her Bachelor of Science in Movement Science from the University of Michigan, her Master of Arts in Health Studies from the University of Alabama and her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2011, Christina is currently the Director of Athletic Training and Community Outreach for the Orthopaedic Service Line. Previous assignments include working with collegiate athletes at the University of Michigan, University of Alabama, Saginaw Valley State University and Central Michigan University; intramural and recreational athletes at Central Michigan University; and youth soccer athletes through the U.S. Olympic Development Program.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Christina was a faculty member of Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University. In 2021, Christina was inducted into the Michigan Athletic Trainers’ Society Hall of Fame and awarded the National Athletic Trainers AT Service Award in 2022.

Sarah Cheatham MEd, AT, ATC

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Evansville and her Master of Education in Sports Administration from Bowling Green State University. She has been employed by Henry Ford Health since 2022. Sarah is currently serving as one of the Athletic Trainers for Bloomfield Hills High School.

Sarah’s previous assignments include Bon Secours Mercy Health, Bowling Green State where she provided coverage for the Men’s Soccer and Softball teams, Smithton R-VI School District, Serc Physical Therapy, Portage Health Sports Medicine Institute, and Greylock Summer Camp.

Brian Cheney MA, AT, ATC

Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Cedarville University and his Master of Arts in Teaching and Physical Education from The University of West Alabama. He has been employed by Henry Ford Health since 2022. Brian is currently serving as one of the Athletic Trainers at Cranbrook Kingswood High School and the Integrative Spine Practice Unit.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Brian served as the Athletic Trainer at Winchester High School and Greenville High School. Brian also served as an Athletic Trainer working with USA Baseball, providing medical care for the 14U, 15U, and 17U National Team Championships-East.

Meagan received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Adrian College and her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Adrian College

Weindel Kimberly 12C

Kimberly Collier, MS, AT, ATC

Kimberly received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Slippery Rock University and her Master of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Kentucky.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2012, Kimberly currently serves as a Supervisor of Athletic Training within the department. Kim was previously assigned as the head Athletic Trainer at the University of Michigan - Dearborn (UMD). In 2017, she created the Drug Education and Testing Program for UMD. In addition, she has served as the co-chair of the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Athletic Training Committee since 2016.

Hannah Emerson MS, AT, ATC, NR-EMT

Hannah earned her Bachelor of Science, Exercise Science/Pre- Athletic Training with a minor in Psychology and Master of Science in Athletic Training from Adrian College in Michigan. Hannah has been a part of Henry Ford Health since 2023 and currently serves as an athletic trainer at Lawrence Tech University.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Hannah was with Excelsior Orthopedics in Buffalo, New York where she provided outreach athletic training at a local middle and high school. She also assisted in the orthopedic and physical therapy clinics while with Excelsior. Along with her athletic training roles, Hannah is also a nationally registered emergency medical technician (NR-EMT), and served in that capacity with Armor Volunteer Fire Company in Hamburg, New York. In addition, she is certified as an American Heart Association BLS Instructor.

Fleming Kevin

Kevin Fleming, MA, MBA, AT, ATC

Kevin received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Athletic Training, his Master of Arts in Curriculum Development and Exercise Science from the University of Iowa and his MBA in Healthcare Administration and Marketing from St. Ambrose University. Kevin is a Michigan High School Athletic Association certified skinfold assessor, CPR instructor and brains and balance specialist.

Employed by Henry Ford Jackson Hospital since 2014, Kevin is currently assigned to Hanover-Horton schools. Prior to HFAH, Kevin worked with Physiotherapy Associates in Battle Creek and provided services to Union City Schools.

Gambino Michelle 15 (00000002)

Michelle Gambino-Gorney MA, AT, ATC, PES

Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University and her Master of Arts in Sports Performance from Ball State University.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2015, Michelle is currently assisting our sports medicine physicians with patient care at the Henry Ford Kutcher Clinic for Concussion and Sports Neurology, and supports community outreach by assisting with coverage at our area’s schools. Previous assignments include providing sports medicine care at Mercy High School and assisting Henry Ford Health physicians at Henry Ford Medical Center - Bloomfield and Henry Ford Medical Center – Columbus.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Michelle provided athletic training services to Ball State University’s intercollegiate women’s soccer team and assisted with coverage for their swimming and diving team.

Alonzo Groggins AT, ATC

Alonzo earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University. Alonzo has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2019. He is currently the athletic trainer at Fordson High School where he has been assigned since 2016.

Previous assignments include ATI physical therapy where he worked in both the clinical and outreach settings. Alonzo also served as Athletic Trainer for the Harlem Globetrotters Basketball Team in addition to internships with Ann Arbor Huron High School and the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.

Harmon Suzanne

Suzanne Harmon, MA, AT, ATC

Suzanne received her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University and her Master of Arts in Educational Administration with a Higher Education emphasis from University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2018, Suzanne is the Manager of sports medicine. She is also an adjunct professor for Adrian College, where she has been a preceptor since 2008.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Suzanne provided athletic training services to Siena Heights University, Tecumseh High School, Clinton High School and Hillsdale College. She was also an adjunct professor at Hillsdale College from 1998 to 2000.

Marnie Hawes MS, AT, ATC

Marnie earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio State University and her Master of Science in Movement Science, with a concentration on injury biomechanics, from Barry University. Marnie has certification in Graston Technique M-1.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2019, Marnie is currently serving as the Athletic Trainer at Mercy High School. Prior to 2021, she was one of the Athletic Trainers for Lawrence Technological University.

Marnie’s previous assignments include Barry University where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Women’s Volleyball and Softball teams. Jordan received her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from the University of North Florida and Master of Science in athletic training from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is currently working on her Doctor of Education degree from University of St. Augustine.

Alia Jones MS, AT, ATC

Alia received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Alma College and her Master of Science in Ashland University in Applied Corrective Exercise Science.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2021, Alia is currently assigned to University of Detroit Mercy.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Alia held athletic training positions at Mercy Elite Sports Performance, ATI Physical Therapy, and Plymouth PT Specialists working with a variety of sports. While at Mercy Elite, she was assigned to Cleary University.

Ja’Lia Johnson MS, AT, ATC, NASM-CES

Ja'Lia earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Central Michigan University and her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Western Michigan University. She has been employed by Henry Ford Health since 2022. Ja’Lia is currently serving as the Athletic Trainer for Canton High School.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Ja’Lia provided Athletic Training services to Sindecuse Sports Medicine Clinic, Premier Sports Medicine, ATI Physical Therapy, Plymouth Physical Therapy, and Detroit Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. In addition to that, Ja’Lia completed an Athletic Training Internship at Bloomfield Hills High School as an Athletic Training Student.

Billy Langston MEd, AT, ATC

Billy earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Mercyhurst University and his Master of Education in Kinesiology/Athletic Training from University of Virginia. He has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2023 and currently serves as assistant athletic trainer for the Detroit Pistons.

Billy comes to Henry Ford Health with an abundance of experience working in the professional sports realm as an athletic trainer, most recently with the Detroit Lions. Previously, he has worked with the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. Billy is also certified in dry needling, Grastons, and blood flow restriction treatment techniques.

Lane Kelly

Kelly Lane, AT, ATC, LMT

Kelly received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Kinesiology and a specialization in Athletic Training from Michigan State University. She is a certified licensed massage therapist (LMT) from Lansing Community College.

Kristi Lewis-Keatts MHSA, AT, ATC, CFo

Kristi earned her Bachelor of Science (sports medicine) from Eastern Michigan University and her Master’s in Health Service Administration from University of Detroit Mercy. She has been a Certified Orthotic Fitter since 2015. Kristi has been employed by Henry Ford Health since 2022. She is currently serving as the Athletic Trainer for Farmington High School

Kristi’s previous assignments include University of Michigan Health System, Medsport where she was an Athletic Trainer providing services to Farmington High School. In addition, Kristi was also a Graduate Assistant at the University of Detroit Mercy where she completed an internship at Henry Ford Health in the Department of Orthopedics.

Shingo Matsubara MA, AT, ATC

Shingo received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Oklahoma State University and his Master of Arts in Exercise Science from Central Michigan University. Shingo also holds certifications in EXOS Performance Specialist, SFMA Level 1, and FMS Level 1.

Shingo has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2023 and is currently serving as Athletic Trainer with Sport Performance.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Shingo provided care for catastrophic injury patients at the DMC-Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. He also provided athletic coverage and rehabilitation services for Adams Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy in Novi, MI as well as for Sprint Sports Rehabilitation Clinic in Roswell, NM. Other noteworthy experience includes being the Japanese interpreter for a Kansas City Royals pitcher.

Allie McDonnell AT, ATC

Allie earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Michigan State University. She has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2022. Allie is currently serving as the Athletic Trainer for Plymouth High School.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Allie’s previous assignment was with Beaumont Health where she was an Athletic Trainer providing coverage to Carlson High School. Allie also served as the Athletic Trainer for Gibraltar High School as well as provided first aid and first responder coverage for Gatorade Sports camps.

Cameron Mills MA, AT, ATC

Cameron completed his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University and his Master of Arts in Communications from Quincy University in Illinois. Cameron has been a part of Henry Ford Health since 2023 where he is currently serving as athletic trainer at Grosse Pointe South High School.

Cameron comes to Henry Ford Health from Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI. While with Ascension St. John he served as athletic trainer for multiple area high schools, but most recently at Grosse Pointe South High School. Cameron was also the graduate assistant athletic trainer at Quincy University providing care for multiple varsity sports.

Don Moran MS, AT, ATC, CSCS

Don received his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in athletic training from Central Michigan University and his Master of Science in exercise physiology from Syracuse University. He holds specialty certifications as a CSCS, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist, Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation, Functional Movement Systems Level 1, Structure and Function Dry Needling Level 1, Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and Mental Health First Aid.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2021, Don is currently serving as one of the Athletic Trainers at Wayne State University.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Don was at Rice University in Houston as an assistant athletic trainer for football, was a contingent athletic trainer at Henry Ford Health, seasonal athletic trainer with football and lacrosse at the University of Michigan, and intern at Wayne State University with football. While at Syracuse University, Don was a graduate assistant athletic trainer with men’s basketball, lacrosse, rowing, and football.

Ibraheem Mutahr AT, ATC

Ibraheem received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University. Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2016, Ibraheem is currently assigned to Salem High School. Previous assignments include providing sports medicine care to the Lakeview High School, Bloomfield Hills High School, and Lawrence Technological University.

Nelson Erin

Erin Nelson, AT, ATC

Erin received her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Central Michigan University.

Employed by Henry Ford Jackson Hospital since 2014, Erin is currently assigned to Napoleon High School. Additionally, she is a STOP THE BLEED® instructor through the American College of Surgeons and the STOP THE BLEED® campaign. Prior to HFAH, Erin provided sports medicine services to Vandercook Lake and East Jackson High Schools.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Michigan State University and her Master of Science in Exercise Science from Oakland University. She has been employed by Henry Ford Health since 2022. Sarah currently serves as the Athletic Trainer at North Farmington High School

Sarah’s previous assignments include Michigan Medicine where she served as an Outreach Athletic Trainer and Washington State University where she served as an Intern Athletic Trainer providing coverage to cheer, dance, and all spirit athletes. Sarah also served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Oakland University where she completed her Graduate Assistantship.

Nick Parkinson, M.Ed., AT, ATC, TSAC-F

Nick received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University and his Master of Education in Exercise Science from Auburn University. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association certified tactical strength and conditioning facilitator (TSAC-F).

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2013, Nick currently serves as Supervisor of Athletic Training within the department. In 2018, Nick was named High School Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Michigan Athletic Trainers Society.

Previous assignments include providing athletic training services to the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and the Great Lakes Loons — a Class A minor league affiliate of the L.A. Dodgers. In early 2012, before departing for Auburn University, Nick provided athletic training coverage to Allen Park High School representing Henry Ford Health.

Emma Paryaski MS, AT, ATC

Emma earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Athletic Training from Concordia University in Ann Arbor. During her undergraduate studies at Concordia University, Emma was a four-year, varsity student-athlete competing for their softball team. She has been employed with Henry Ford Health since early 2024 and currently serves as the athletic trainer for University of Detroit Jesuit High School.

Emma comes to Henry Ford Health after serving as an assistant athletic trainer for Madonna University. Emma also completed a year-long, athletic training internship at Madonna University after finishing her degree. Prior to athletic training, Emma was a rehabilitation aide and physical therapy technician at Athletico Physical Therapy and Therapy Unlimited, respectively.

Philbrick David 21 

Dave Philbrick AT, ATC, CES

Dave received his Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University with a major in sports medicine.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2021, Dave is currently assigned to the Motor City Cruise.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Dave provided athletic training services through the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan EXOS Sports Performance Academy as a Lead AT in Pontiac, Michigan where he worked with athletes of all ranges from high school, collegiate to professional. He has held positions at Crittenton Hospital, St. John’s Health System, and with the Arizona Diamondbacks working as a Minor League Athletic Trainer. Amanda J. Pruden MSAL, AT, ATC

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Canisius College and her Masters in Sport Administration and Leadership from Seattle University. She has certifications in Dry Needling, BFR, SFMA, Myofascial decompression, FMS, Y-Balance Assessment, and Graston Technique. Amanda has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2022. She is currently serving as the Athletic Trainer for the Executive Health Program.

Amanda’s previous assignments include Northwestern Medicine where she was an Associate Athletic Trainer providing coverage to Northwestern University, University of California Los Angeles as a Senior Athletic Trainer and Director of the Sports Medicine Internship Program, and Seattle University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Instructor. Amanda also has experience with USA volleyball and volunteer experience with John Hopkins University working with the men’s lacrosse team.

Damien Quarles AT, ATC

Damien earned his Bachelor of Science (athletic training) from Central Michigan University. He has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2022. Damien is currently serving as the Athletic Trainer for Lakeview Highschool.

Damien’s previous assignments include Ascension Michigan where he served as an Athletic Trainer and Southfield Public Schools where he served as the Head Athletic Trainer. Damien also has experience at Detroit Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, Walk the Line Recovery Therapy, and Bloomfield Hills Highschool where he completed an internship.

Kelsey Rasky AT, ATC

Kelsey earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University. She has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2019. She currently serves as a Supervisor of Athletic Training within the department.

Previous assignments for Kelsey included University of Michigan-Dearborn with Henry Ford Health and ATI Physical Therapy where she worked as Athletic Trainer at Canton High School. Kelsey also worked in the industrial setting for ATI Worksite Solutions where she specialized in FMLA. Immediately after graduating, Kelsey worked in the clinical setting where she implemented and oversaw the Work Conditioning Program and became certified in Muscle Energy Techniques.

Monica Reiche AT, ATC, EMT

Monica earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Central Michigan University and was in the Accelerated EMT Program at Oakland Community College. She has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2022. Monica is currently serving as an Athletic Trainer for Bloomfield Hills Highschool.

Emma Reid MS, AT, ATC

Emma earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science in Athletic Training from Wayne State University. While at WSU, Emma was a varsity DII swimmer and served as team captain for the 2017/2018 season.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2021, Emma is assigned to Edsel Ford High School.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Emma had placements at Oakland University, Avondale High School, and Lawrence Technological University. She has service experience with NewLife Church and Detroit Public Schools and is a former swim instructor, lifeguard, and pool manager.

Rompola Ryan 20

Ryan Rompola, DAT, AT, ATC

Ryan received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Indiana State University and his Doctorate in Athletic Training from Indiana State University. Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2019, he is currently our Supervisor, Athletic Training and assisting our sports medicine physicians at the Henry Ford Sports Medicine Clinic and supports community outreach by assisting with coverage at area schools.

Ryan has an additional certification in Graston Technique and is also a certified myoskeletal therapist. He is a lead athletic trainer for USA Weightlifting’s Medical Society.

Prior to Henry Ford, Ryan was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Attica High School in Indiana and was an athletic trainer with Franciscan Health in Lafayette, Indiana.

Rourke Meaghan

Meaghan Rourke, MA, AT, ATC, PES

Meaghan received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University and her Master of Arts degree in Health Professions Education from Michigan State University. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified performance enhancement specialist (PES) and an American Heart Association certified First Aid/CPR instructor.

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 2003, Meaghan is currently assigned to Allen Park High School and assists our sports medicine physicians with patient care at the William Clay Ford Center for Athletic Medicine in Detroit.

Previous assignments include providing athletic training services to the University of Detroit - Jesuit and Ladywood High Schools.

Lindsey Rush MSAT, AT, ATC

Lindsey earned her Bachelor of Sports Medicine and her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Concordia University. She has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2022. Lindsey is currently serving as one of the Athletic Trainers for Lawrence Tech University.

Lindsey’s previous assignment includes Northern Kentucky University where she served as an Athletic Training Intern providing coverage to the softball team. While at Concordia University, she provided student coverage to a variety of sports teams at Concordia University and the University of Michigan.

Kelly Scala AT, ATC

Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Adrian College. She has been employed with Henry Ford Health since 2019. She continues in her role as Athletic Trainer for Dearborn High School where she has been since 2015.

Kelly’s previous assignments include Concordia University where she served as both assistant and head Athletic Trainer. Kelly was also the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Concordia University. During her time as Athletic Trainer for Beaumont and Concordia, Kelly volunteered and worked many recreational and organized events and tournaments including the Canton Cup and MIHL Hockey Showcase.

Brigette Scarber MS, AT, ATC, CAT(C)

Brigette received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Adrian College as well as her Master of Science in Athletic Training. Brigette has been with Henry Ford Health since 2023 where she is currently serving as athletic trainer for Grosse Pointe North High School.

Prior to Henry Ford Health, Brigette was providing athletic training services at Grosse Pointe North High School with Ascension St. John in Detroit, MI. Brigette also served as a sports medicine and rehabilitation athletic therapist in Ontario, Canada where she cared for the Barrie AAA minor bantam hockey team, and Simcoe county secondary school athletics.

Schreiber Nicole web

Nicole Schreiber, MA, AT, ATC

Nicole received her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.

Nicole has been employed by Henry Ford Health since 2009. She has been instrumental in providing clinical liaison expertise to the Detroit Pistons, Wayne State University and other outreach entities. Her efforts over the past two seasons garnished a Power of One award nomination in 2019. Nicole also serves as manager of athletic training within the Division of Sports Medicine.

During her tenure with Henry Ford Health, Nicole has provided direct patient care to high school athletes, assisted in physician clinic, coordinated outreach physicals and athletic training student rotations. She served as athletic trainer to Mercy High School until 2015, when she was promoted to lead athletic trainer.

Bailey Thompson MS, AT, ATC

Bailey earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Bowling Green State University and received a Post-Professional Master of Science in Athletic Training degree with a Healthcare Leadership certification from Ohio University. She is also an American Heart Association Basic Life Support provider.

Bailey has been with Henry Ford Health since 2023 and currently serves as Athletic Trainer for Detroit Country Day Schools.

Before joining Henry Ford Health, Bailey worked for OhioHealth Sports Medicine as an Athletic Trainer at Worthington Middle Schools. While at Worthington Middle Schools Bailey oversaw the clinical education experience of the Ohio University athletic training pediatric resident. She also completed her athletic training internship with ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney World.

Dawn Thrasher, AT, ATC, PES, FMS

Dawn received her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified performance enhancement specialist (PES) and functional movement specialist (FMS).

Employed by Henry Ford Health since 1998, Dawn is currently assigned to Marian High School. She works with performance enhancement programming as a functional movement specialist, and assists our sports medicine physicians with patient care at the William Clay Ford Center for Athletic Medicine in Detroit and Henry Ford Medical Center - Columbus.

Previous assignments include providing sports medicine services to South Lake, Brother Rice, University of Detroit - Jesuit, Detroit Country Day, Lahser and Hamtramck High Schools and Marygrove College. She also worked at the William Clay Ford Center for Athletic Medicine in Rehabilitation Services.

Sawyer Williamson MS, AT, ATC, CSCS

Sawyer completed his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Utah and continued his education at Ohio University where he received his Master of Science in Athletic Training. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Sawyer has been with Henry Ford Health since 2023, and he is an assistant athletic trainer at Oakland University.

Sawyer comes to Henry Ford Health after serving as an assistant athletic trainer with the FC Cincinatti 2 professional soccer team as well as their developmental teams. Sawyer was also the director of athletic training services at Federal Hocking High School in Ohio, completed an athletic training internship with the Cincinatti Reds MLB team, and was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Marietta College.

Miranda Zimmerman MS, AT, ATC

Miranda completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Central Michigan University and her Master in Exercise Science with a concentration in Health and Rehabilitation from Texas State University. She has been with Henry Ford Health since 2023 and is currently serving at University of Detroit Mercy providing care for the softball team.

Miranda comes to Henry Ford Health after spending two years as the graduate assistant athletic trainer at Texas State University serving area schools. During this time, she also served as a contract athletic trainer at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex providing medical coverage for multiple athletic tournaments and championships. Prior to that, Miranda was a resident athletic trainer with Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital where she assisted a physical therapist in the clinic setting and managed the day-to-day athletic operations at a local high school.
