Movement Disorders Research
Henry Ford has conducted research studies for the past 20 years to:
- Uncover the causes of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders
- Find new and more effective drug therapies
- Provide newer surgical techniques to help those with disabling movement disorders
Clinical trials for movement disorders at Henry Ford
Ongoing trials led by movement disorder neurologists at Henry Ford are vital to the process of advancing medical treatment for patients with these diseases. We test new drugs for tremor disorders in conjunction with recording equipment to measure tremor as a way to understand the effectiveness of the medications.
We are also involved in ongoing research for diagnostic markers of Parkinson's disease.
