Sniff Test

Used to evaluate movement of the diaphragm.

Preparation

• Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time with an order if your doctor has given you one.

Procedure

• You will be asked to stand in front of the x-ray machine.
• Radiologist will take moving pictures as you breathe in and out.
• The test lasts approximately 15 minutes.
