Our multidisciplinary cervical cancer tumor board meets weekly to discuss your case and develop a treatment plan.

Your treatment may include one or more of these options:

• Surgery
• Chemotherapy
• Radiation therapy
• Fertility preservation

If you are pregnant, your treatment will depend on the stage of cervical cancer and your pregnancy. 

Advanced minimally-invasive surgery

Whenever possible, our surgeons perform minimally invasive surgery, which provides the same benefits and leads to faster recovery and less discomfort. Some minimally invasive options include:

• Cryosurgery involves inserting a special probe into the tumor or cancerous tissue. Then the tip of the probe is frozen, killing cancer cells. 
• Laser surgery is done by using a narrow beam of intense light that acts like a knife. The laser beam makes bloodless cuts to remove cancerous tissue or a tumor.  
• Laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy 

Leaders in radiation therapy

Using the most advanced technology, we are able to more effectively deliver radiation therapy to our cervical cancer patients. Radiation treatment options for cervical cancer include MRI-guided radiation (for select patients), external beam radiation therapy and internal radiation, called intracavitary brachytherapy.

Clinical trials

Medical research, known as clinical trials, is constantly being done to find better ways of treating cancer. If you are newly diagnosed with cervical cancer or have resistant or recurring cervical cancer, a clinical trial may be available for you.
