Fertility preservation

If you are pregnant or wish to become pregnant, we provide options to preserve fertility. Some of these options are experimental and may be appropriate only for women at certain stages of cervical cancer.

  • Ovarian transposition, which protects the ovaries by moving one or both of them away from the area where radiation treatment will be given.
  • Radical trachelectomy, which preserves the uterus while removing the cervix.
  • Freezing eggs, embryos and ovarian tissue
  • Radiation shielding
