Become part of the Henry Ford Health Food Allergy Registry

Henry Ford Health allergists and researchers who specialize in food allergies invite you to become part of the Food Allergy Registry for Henry Ford Health patients. The registry will be used by Henry Ford Health allergists and scientists to conduct food allergy research. When you volunteer to take part in the registry, you and your child will help us learn more about food allergies in children, why food allergy rates have increased in recent years, which treatments are the most effective, and how food allergies affect diverse populations. It is a way to help your child, your family, and other children who have food allergies get better treatment in the future. 

To take part in the registry, your child must be a patient at Henry Ford Health and:

• Be less than 18 years old,
• Have been diagnosed with a food allergy by a doctor,
• Have completed an oral food challenge in the past, or 
• Received a prescription for an epinephrine pen autoinjector. 

The Pre-Screening form is the first step to taking part in the Food Allergy Registry. It will be reviewed by our team. If you are eligible to take part, the next step will be to complete an informed consent document which will give you more information about the registry and research so you can decide if you would like to participate. Then, you’ll complete some questionnaires about your child’s medical history, reactions to food, and how food allergy has impacted your child and your family. 

The information you provide is voluntary and confidential, and will be used for research purposes at Henry Ford Health only. The information is stored on a password-protected secure website managed and monitored by Henry Ford Health. 

Only Henry Ford physicians who specialize in treating allergies and conducting research will use the database. Their goal is to better understand and learn more about food allergies in children.
