Virginia Skiba, MD

I specialize in a variety of sleep disorders with a focus in restless leg syndrome, REM sleep behavior disorder, and sleep problems in cognitive decline, dementia and stroke. I work closely with patients' neurologists to optimize their sleep health.

Biographical Statement

Dr. Virginia Skiba graduated with Highest Distinction from the University of Michigan in 1999. She received her Medical Doctor degree in 2004 when she graduated with Distinction from the University of Michigan Medical School. She spent the next 9 years of her career serving in the United States Navy, where she completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Neurology Residency. Dr. Skiba then completed a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan. In 2014 she joined the Sleep Disorders Center team at the Henry Ford Health System.

Her clinical and research interests have included looking at sleep disordered breathing in various population. She is active in graduate medical education, as well as state and national sleep societies to advance the awareness of healthy sleep and sleep disorders.

She likes to spend time with her family and explore the outdoors, as well as focus on dog training.

Dr. Virginia Skiba is approved as a licensed telemedicine provider in both the states of Michigan and Florida.
