Biographical Statement
Dr. Lisa Rogers, medical director for brain metastasis at the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center, has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients with primary and metastatic brain tumors, and participates in many brain tumor clinical trials. There is tremendous progress in the treatment for each kind of tumor which the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center provides. In addition, Dr. Rogers’ personal philosophy is to focus on quality of life while working to improve treatment outcome. She has experience in using the ketogenic diet to treat brain tumors. She also treats the rare complication of cancer that has spread to the spinal fluid
She has extensive experience in collaborating with other imaging specialists to tell the difference between recurrent brain tumor and radiation necrosis (brain scar tissue following radiation). Dr. Rogers has a dedicated approach to treating the neurological complications of cancer treatment, including memory loss that can be associated with brain radiation or chemotherapy (also known as "chemobrain"), neuropathy and cancer-related stroke.
