About Me
Biographical Statement
Kathy Ransome is a master’s prepared clinical social worker with more than 30 years specializing in adult behavioral health care. She has worked in outpatient, emergency and inpatient psychiatric settings. Her special areas of interest include:
- Coping with medical illness
- Managing grief and loss
- Women’s behavioral health
Kathy has advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with the Beck Institute and is a diplomate with the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She also has training in incorporating mindfulness in psychotherapy and currently runs a mindfulness/meditation group for cancer survivors in the community. Kathy is a current member of the PCRT (Post Crisis Response Team) for Henry Ford Health System. She enjoys learning and expanding her knowledge and clinical skills and has a passion for teaching both MSW graduate school interns and psychiatric residents.
Kathy received her master’s degree from the Wayne State School of Social Work with a major in group work.
