Biographical Statement

As a general surgeon, I am committed to selecting the surgical approach that best meets each patient's individual needs. This includes minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures and robotic surgery using the da Vinci surgical system. I began using robotic technology in Jackson in 2010–2011 and have since performed nearly 2,000 robotic procedures. My experience also includes helping guide the responsible growth of robotic surgery through physician credentialing standards and leadership of robotic surgery committees at both the Jackson and Henry Ford Health system levels. This work reflects my ongoing commitment to advancing surgical care and thoughtfully using the latest technology to help improve patients' experiences and outcomes.

My clinical interests include diseases of the adrenal, thyroid and parathyroid glands; hernias; and cancers and other conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract, including the stomach, gallbladder, small intestine, colon and rectum. I am experienced in laparoscopic and robotic approaches to adrenalectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon and rectal surgery, splenic surgery and abdominal wall and groin hernia repair, as well as surgical treatment of the thyroid and parathyroid glands.

Clinical Interests

My clinical interests include diseases of the adrenal glands; tumors/cancers, and other diseases, of the gastrointestinal tract (including stomach, gallbladder, small intestine, large intestine/colon or rectum); thyroid disease; parathyroid disease; hernia; and breast disease.
