Sharon W Lahiri, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Sharon Wu Lahiri received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Boston University Medical Center and a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Lahiri joined the Henry Ford Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Bone and Mineral Disorders as a senior staff physician in January of 2008. She has been the Endocrinology fellowship Program Director since November of 2012. She is a member of the Association of Program Directors in Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Endocrine Society, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. She has been a Clinical Associate Professor of Wayne State University School of Medicine since 2016. She is particularly interested in thyroid disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, diabetes and obesity. She has published in the area of thyroid disease, obesity, and diabetes.

Awards & Honors

Dr. Lahiri is board certified in Endocrinology. She received an Endocrine Society Abbott Thyroid Clinical Research Fellowship Finalist Award for her research in July 2005. She had the winning poster in the Endocrine Society Presidential Poster Competition in March of 2018 for research on barriers to care in obesity management. She was elected Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology in May 2023 and has been recognized by "HOUR Detroit" magazine as a "Top Doc."
