About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Arfaat Khan is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, cardiac device implantation, and complex catheter ablation procedures.
He serves as Section Chief of Cardiac Electrophysiology for Henry Ford Medical Group, Chief of Cardiology at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, and the Co-Director for the Heart Rhythm Council for the Heart and Vascular Service Line at Henry Ford Health. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University and Michigan State University, where he is actively involved in teaching the next generation of physicians.
Care Philosophy
I believe medicine is about much more than treating a heart rhythm disorder, it is about caring for the person sitting in front of me. When patients come to see me, they are often anxious, frightened, or uncertain about what lies ahead. My first responsibility is to listen. My second is to help them understand their condition. Most importantly, my goal is to give them hope. Hope comes from knowledge, honest conversations, and knowing that someone is committed to finding the best path forward. I want every patient to leave my office feeling more confident than when they arrived, knowing they have a physician who will advocate for them and stand beside them throughout their journey. I believe in treating every patient as I would want my own family to be treated, with compassion, respect, and the highest standard of medical care.
I also value the trust placed in me by referring physicians. When a colleague refers a patient, they are entrusting me with someone's health and well-being. I take that responsibility seriously. My commitment is to provide exceptional, evidence-based care, communicate openly, and ensure that every patient receives the attention they deserve so that referring physicians can feel confident their patients are in good hands. Whether I am performing a complex ablation, implanting a cardiac device, or simply sitting with a patient to answer questions, my philosophy remains the same: work hard, be available, communicate clearly, and always put the patient's best interests first.
