About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Zehra Farzal is a board-certified neurologist and movement disorders specialist at Henry Ford Health. She provides comprehensive care for patients with Parkinson's disease, atypical parkinsonian disorders, Huntington's disease, dystonia, tremor, and other complex movement disorders, with a focus on delivering compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Dr. Farzal has a strong interest in clinical research and advancing access to emerging therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. Her academic interests include disease-modifying treatments for Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease, clinical trial development, and the translation of new scientific discoveries into meaningful improvements in patient care.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Farzal is actively involved in resident and medical student education, serving as Associate Program Director of the neurology residency program. She is committed to mentoring the next generation of neurologists through scholarly activity, research education, and curriculum development. She is also involved in the Michigan Parkinson's disease and dystonia communities where she works to improve education, advocacy, and resources for individuals living with these diseases.
Dr. Farzal believes that the best neurological care combines scientific innovation with empathy, shared decision-making, and individualized treatment plans that help patients maintain their quality of life and independence.
