I messaged Dr. Fano the evening before I saw him then I thought I might have a hernia. He messaged me back at 10:30 that night and let me know that he would have his staff see if they could get me in the next day. I received a phone call at 8 o'clock in the morning that they had a couple cancellations and at 8:40. I was very appreciative that they got me in that quickly.

Dr. Fano is a truly exceptional provider, and Henry Ford is lucky to have him on staff. Although Dr. Fano is not my current Primary Care Physician, he was able to see me for an urgent matter while my PCP is out of the office. He showed great skill in being able to synthesize the information I was giving him about my illness in that moment with other things that he observed while examining me and referring to my chart as well. He showed a truly outstanding level of concern and empathy for what I was describing. I can't emphasize this enough: many (even most) providers, in my experience, are not able to exhibit both a high level of concern for their patients AND a high level of practical skills/insight into the medical issues at hand. This doctor is exceptional.
