Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital Visitor Information
At Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, we are committed to keeping our patients and their loved ones connected while delivering safe, high-quality care. To help ensure the safety of our patients, please review our Visitor Policy before coming to our hospital.
Patients and visitors are no longer required to wear masks in our facilities. If you are immunocompromised and admitted to the hospital, or visiting someone who is immunocompromised in the hospital, we kindly ask that you continue to wear a mask. We also ask that you wear a mask if you have cold-like or COVID-19 symptoms, and of course, everyone is still welcome to wear masks if they choose to do so.
Our team members are also no longer required to wear masks, except in our inpatient hospital units where we care for immunocompromised patients such as oncology, transplant and neonatal intensive care units. You can ask your care team to wear masks if it makes you more comfortable.

All Settings |
COVID-19 positive/ immunocompromised patients: One visitor a day and a total of two visitors during their hospital stay. Visitors must wear all PPE, including procedural masks. Visitation hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. After-hours visitors should enter through the Emergency Department. |
| Inpatient |
Hospitalized patients may have two visitors at a time from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Visitors younger than 12 years of age are not permitted. Visitors should refrain from or limit eating and drinking in patient rooms. Visitors should use restrooms and retrain from sharing the patient’s restroom. |

Surgical and Procedural Areas |
Admitted surgical and procedural patients: Two visitors may accompany the patient. Visitors may stay in the designated waiting area during the procedure and then wait with the patient in recovery. Visitors may accompany the patient once admitted to a unit. After visiting hours, the visitors must leave once the patient is admitted to the unit. Outpatient surgical and procedural patients: Two visitors may accompany the patient. Visitors must stay in the designated waiting area and leave with the patient as soon as they are ready to be discharged. |
| Behavioral Health |
Visitation hours are: Wednesday 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. for patients in even room numbers. Holidays 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. for patients in even room numbers and 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. for patients in odd room numbers. ***Holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day*** One visitor per patient is allowed on the unit at one time currently. All visitors must be at least 18 years of age. The visitors must complete the check in process including showing picture identification and handheld meta detector scanning. Visitors who have been a patient on 3 Rehab within the last 30 days are not allowed to visit current patients, unless approved by attending Doctor. |
| Clinics | Two visitors may accompany the patient as needed for transport within the facility, discussion of clinical decisions, or to assist if the patient has cognitive impairments. |
| OB, NICU |
Labor and Delivery: A certified Doula with screening and appropriate PPE will be allowed during labor and for a period after birth. Visitation is permitted 24/7. Siblings may be allowed to visit but must be accompanied by an adult. Minor visitors other than the patient’s children must be 12 years old. One overnight visitor allowed following delivery (minimum 18 years of age). Special Care Nursery: Two parents/guardians may be with the patient 24/7. A total of four additional visitors, 18 years or older are allowed during regular visiting hours. |
| Minors | Two parents or guardians may accompany the patient to appointments after passing the screening. One parent may stay with the minor all night. Patient sibling(s) may accompany the parent or guardian when necessary. |
| Hospice or End of Life | May have up to four visitors per day. Can be under the age of 12 with permission of the healthcare team. |
| Select Specialty Hospital |
Visitation Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Visitors must be 18 years of age or older. While outside food is allowed to be brought in for the patient, no food or drink may be consumed by the visitors themselves while on the unit. Visitors are allowed to leave the unit and then return to the patient’s room (i.e., go to the cafeteria and eat). |
