Vice President Patient Care Services, Chief Nursing Officer, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital

Kim Meeker, MBA, BSN, R.N., has served as the Vice President of Patient Care Services and the Chief Nursing Officer for Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital and Henry Ford Health Center-Brownstown since January 2021.

Kim also serves as the President for the Michigan Organization for Nursing Leadership (MONL). Kim works with the board and all MONL members to fulfill the organization's mission through innovative nursing leadership, education, advocacy, and professional development.

Before coming to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, Kim served as the Chief Nursing Officer and the Chief Operating Officer at Saint Agnes Medical Center, a 436-bed community-based hospital affiliated with Trinity Health in Fresno, Calif.

Kim is a motivational leader who has demonstrated throughout her career the importance of sustaining and building teams dedicated to patient and team member excellence. One of the several areas of experience that Kim possesses is expertise in continuous improvements, such as introducing frameworks that drive strategies and workflows for improved patient outcomes. With Kim's leadership and support at Saint Agnes, her team was able to achieve a 23% reduction in length of stay and reduced readmissions by 4.8% by implementing best practice strategies.

At Wyandotte, Kim continues the focus on professional development for the nursing staff and the journey toward high reliability and Magnet status. This includes creating a partnership with the Healthcare Advisory Board for their fellowship program for 25 leaders over 5 years, continuing to grow the Professional Nurse Advancement Program and the Shared Governance structure. Her focus is to create an environment that elevates the voice of the nurse.

Kim has demonstrated successful leadership at several healthcare facilities, including Senior Operations Administrator at Wiser Women's and Infants' Hospital in Jackson, MS., and Vice President of Surgical Services and Operations at St. Vincent Mercy Health in Toledo.

Kim was the prior Director of Surgical Services at Allegiance Health in Jackson in the early 2000s. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Nazareth College and her Master of Business Administration degree from Spring Arbor College. Kim also has attained Fellowship status within the Health Care Advisory Board's Executive Leadership Program.
