Awardees possess a passion for healing and exemplify the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Past Recipients:

The Dr. Dennis Lemanski Award for Exceptional Commitment to Outstanding Service and Innovation in Medicine.

This award was started as a tribute to Dr. Lemanski who, through his career in service to the Downriver Communities, embodied a tireless and compassionate dedication to not just patients, but also to leading his physician colleagues. Through his leadership, Dr. Lemanski demonstrated core values that signify this exceptional commitment.

  • Innovation – Consistently pushing the “status quo” in an effort to develop new ideas to solving old problems.
  • Teaching – as a physician, Dr. Lemanski served as a pivotal leader for Graduate Medical Education Downriver and believes all physicians should play a meaningful role in providing their time and expertise to developing the Doctors of Tomorrow.
  • Service – striving to ensure that a commitment to serving others extends outside the walls of the institution and really striving to lead a life of service in every way.
