The Heart and Vascular Team at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital earned accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). In order to receive this important accreditation, we had to meet or exceed stringent and rigorous standards in the areas of quality, training and education. These regionally leading efforts result in shorter hospital stays, faster recoveries and better quality of life for our patients. Our extensive cardiac capabilities include:

Cardiac catheterization laboratory

The catheterization laboratory of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital offers patients diagnostic and emergent therapeutic procedures. Equipped with state-of-the-art imaging and highly skilled cardiac interventionists, these life-saving facilities provides detailed views of the heart and blood vessels. In cases of heart attack our experts will utilize these facilities to open up blocked blood vessels, restore proper blood flow and even place therapeutic stents when necessary.

Inpatient cardiac care

Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital has 20 Cardiac Intermediate Care beds, and 8 Cardiac Intensive Care beds available for patients with acute and chronic heart disease. With advanced monitoring capabilities, this unit is staffed with a highly specialized team and a highly trained cardiac nursing staff.

Around the clock care is provided for patients who are critically ill and in need of close cardiac monitoring. Working directly with cardiologists and intensivists, patients are followed and cared for in a room completely geared to their full recovery. This care also works hand in hand with our experts in electrophysiology to provide a bridge to recovery for patients receiving implantable devices.

Electrophysiology

We offer access to advanced arrhythmia testing as well as placement for pacemakers and heart defibrillators. Supported by advanced electrophysiologists who are on-staff, we offer medical management and post-device follow-up for patients with implanted devices.

Our pacemaker clinic provides easy access to adjustments or recommendations for replacement. We can even monitor the functions of a pacemaker at home with a simple phone call.

When more advanced ablative procedures or devices are necessary our team provides patients with access to one of the most advanced programs in the state at Henry Ford Hospital. This integrated program offers our patients with every option available including the very latest therapies to ensure they are receiving the best approaches for their disorder.

Vascular services

We offer advanced diagnostic testing and treatment of vascular disease. Our physicians can provide numerous vascular tests and services, including safe, pain-relieving treatment of peripheral vascular disease. Using many of the same techniques as cardiac catheterization, physicians can restore blood flow to the lower extremities and relieve the discomfort associated with this condition. Our staff also provides long-term vascular rehabilitation when necessary.
