Continuity Clinic
The resident clinic is located across the street from HFM Hospital. As such, it provides residents with an exceptional opportunities for continuity of care.
Throughout the 3 years of training, residents are responsible for managing all aspects of their individual patients’ care. With a wide diversity of patients, as well as a high patient volume, residents are provided an excellent foundation for learning the fundamentals of family medicine.
The recently updated facility has 12 fully-equipped patient rooms, including dedicated space for Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT). The resident clinic is supervised by 4 attending physicians and supported by a full office staff.
The continuity clinic also provides ample opportunities for refining dermatologic, gynecologic and orthopedic procedural skills. These include, but are not limited to, skin biopsies, cryotherapy, colposcopy, contraceptive implants, joint injections, trigger point injections, splinting and casting.
Resident Clinic Schedules:
- PGY 1: 1 half day per week
- PGY 2: 2 full days per week
- PGY 3: 2 full days per week
In addition to the protected weekly clinic days, residents also complete a full 1 month clinic rotation during their first year. This allows interns to gain familiarity with clinic flow and logistics. It will also allow residents to get accustomed to increased patient volume and exercise practice management skills.
