History
Henry Ford Health, founded in 1915 by auto pioneer Henry Ford, has grown into one of the nation’s leading comprehensive and integrated health care systems. For more than a century, the institution and the Henry Ford Medical Group have contributed to advancements in medicine through leadership in clinical care, education, and research. We are one of the largest U.S. teaching hospitals in the country, training over 675 residents and fellows each year in 50 accredited programs. Through our partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine since 2002, we also help train and educate over 150 medical students each year.
Henry Ford Medical Group physicians collaborate to provide the best possible care to every patient we serve. We are committed to improving the health and well-being of the people of Michigan, in addition to providing community education through various formats including the system’s Emmy Award-winning TV series, Minds of Medicine. Detroit is a rich multicultural city, and we value the tremendous diversity among our workforce, our partners, and the many diverse communities we serve through our patients and their families.
