Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship
Message from Program Director:
Welcome to the Henry Ford Hospital Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) Fellowship Program. Thank you for your interest in our program! I invite you to explore our website and discover one of the premier HPM fellowship programs in the State of Michigan.
The Henry Ford Hospital HPM Fellowship Program is a one-year, adult-focused, ACGME accredited program in Detroit, Michigan. Our mission is to train HPM physician leaders who provide and promote relief of suffering and quality of life for patients experiencing serious and life-limiting illnesses. Our fellows graduate prepared to practice in both the community and academic settings. They are proficient in leading interdisciplinary teams to coordinate the care of seriously ill patients and have strong foundations in educating medical learners of all levels.
Our program’s home is in Henry Ford Hospital, the primary teaching site and flagship of Henry Ford Health. It is an 877-bed quaternary care center and home to 53 ACGME accredited training programs. Our fellows learn alongside nearly 700 other residents and fellows in a rich and supportive learning environment. Several additional clinical sites round out the clinical experience providing our fellows with diversity in patient population and disease processes. Learning is facilitated by an engaging HPM faculty and an exceptional interdisciplinary team.
A robust didactics series, communication curriculum, available faculty development workshop, and plentiful scholarly opportunities supplement our clinical training to provide a comprehensive educational experience.
I am confident our program will meet your educational goals as you pursue fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Please contact me or our Program Coordinator, Brandy Wright, with any questions.
