Text Messaging at Henry Ford Health
Henry Ford Health is upgrading our patient text messaging system. This new system will make it easier for you to get text messages about your visits, information related to your MyChart account, prescription reminders, announcements, and more.
How is it different from the current system?
The current text messaging system only allows for one way communication – from Henry Ford Health to you. This new system will allow you to respond to messages and do things like confirm appointments, reschedule appointments, and pay your bills.
Below you will find information on how to update your communication preferences, how to opt out of messages, what to do if you run into any issues, and other tips to ensure you receive messages how you want.
What to Expect after December 4, 2024
- There are now 2 numbers associated with Henry Ford Health that you may get a text from.
- 53842 is the primary number that will send messages about your care, including but not limited to:
- Updates about your appointments
- Prescription reminders

- MyChart account information
- 50209 is the secondary number that will send Henry Ford Health marketing messages, including but not limited to:
