Before You Travel
Here are a few tips so you can prepare for your trip to the United States:
- Update contact information. Be sure we have all of your updated contact information on file, as well as that of anyone who may be traveling with you. Check with your care coordinator to make sure all details are up to date.
- Bring medication and supplement information. Please bring all of the medications, or a list of medications, that you currently take. This includes vitamins and supplements that may not have been prescribed by a doctor. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration provides guidelines for traveling into the U.S. with prescription medications.
- Gather personal identification documentation. There are a few things that you must bring, including:
- Travel documents and identification according to requirements from U.S. Customs and Border Protection
- U.S. currency; be sure to check current exchange rates
- Review requirements for international travel to the U.S. Several security agencies, including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), enforce regulations relating to international travel. Please review TSA procedures for travelers who have disabilities and medical conditions and browse security screening requirements, as well as U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s list of prohibited and restricted items.
You may have other concerns or questions, and we are happy to speak with you.
