Free Vascular Screenings
The Henry Ford Vascular Laboratory performs painless, non-invasive screenings to identify life-threatening blocked blood vessels and aneurysms (thinning areas in a blood vessel wall that can stretch and burst). We also screen for venous insufficiency, the underlying cause of varicose veins.
These free screening are important, and could be life-saving, because vascular disease often has no symptoms or warning signs. Screening results also determine the best type of treatment if vascular issues are found.
If you are over 50 and have one of the below risk factors, you can schedule a free screening by calling
Risk factors for vascular disease
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Tobacco use (current or past)
- High blood cholesterol
- Family history of aneurysm or arterial disease
Please note: These free screenings are currently available only at Henry Ford Health in Jackson. They are not the same as diagnostic vascular ultrasound testing. If you have received a diagnosis of vascular disease or have been referred for diagnostic ultrasound testing by your primary care provider, those services will be billed to your insurance carrier.
