Chemotherapy for vaginal cancer

Chemotherapy uses drugs to damage or destroy cancer cells. Our vaginal cancer team includes medical oncologists, physicians who specialize in the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other medications. 

Treatment of vaginal cancer most often includes the combination of chemotherapy and radiation.

Chemotherapy is given to make the cancer more sensitive to the radiation to improve chances for a cure and/or control of the disease. Should your treatment plan include surgery, your team will select a personalized surgical approach for you, taking into consideration your personal choices and sexual history.
