Transplant Recovery Unit

Following your transplant surgery, you will recover in a specialized recovery unit at Henry Ford Hospital. We designed the unit to meet the needs of our transplant patients, to protect against infection and promote healing as you begin your recovery.

About our transplant recovery unit

As part of our commitment to excellent care throughout the transplantation process, our inpatient transplant unit provides a healing environment as you begin your transition home. At the Henry Ford Transplant Institute, our dedicated unit features:

  • Private rooms: Our rooms feature flat-screen TVs with bedside remotes, wireless internet access, comfortable furniture and a sleeper sofa for family members to stay overnight. Learn more about our private rooms.
  • Advanced environmental technology: Our ventilation system uses special filtering (HEPA) to protect against infection by clearing allergens and dust from the air.
  • Electronic patient monitoring system: Using the latest mobile technology, our medical staff can access and update your electronic medical record at your bedside. We continuously monitor your vital signs and overall health with information including your medications, ventilator information and procedures.
  • Specialized care team: The skilled nurses in our transplant recovery unit have training and years of experience in advanced medical care for transplant patients.
