Easy, Convenient Preventative Care At Henry Ford Health

Amidst demanding jobs, childrearing—and myriad tasks to check off daily—it’s easy for routine medical appointments to fall by the wayside. But what if you could fit them all in—one right after another—while being chauffeured from one appointment to the next?

That convenience is what convinced Darin Gesse to sign up for Henry Ford Health’s Executive Health Program, which allows you to get an individualized evaluation and all necessary medical testing done in just a few hours.

While Darin makes it a point to stay up-to-date with doctor appointments—and even chose his home in part because of its proximity to Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital—he was thrilled at the aspect of checking them all off in one day, especially as he is a father and a car-loving executive at General Motors. (Darin found out about the program after General Motors partnered with Henry Ford Health to offer it to their executive employees.)

“I have been a Henry Ford patient for almost 30 years and preventative care is so important to me, so it was nice to be able to try the Executive Health Program,” Darin says. “Everything about my experience was seamless.” Before his appointment, Darin had a video conference call with Dr. William Keimig to discuss his medical history. Dr. Keimig created a plan that would tailor Darin’s medical tests and assessments to suit his health needs.

The VIP Experience

When Darin checked into his appointment at the Henry Ford Center for Athletic Medicine, he was a bit excited. “That was my first time in the athletic center—it was cool to be where the Pistons train,” he says with a laugh.

Darin was immediately introduced to someone who would escort him from appointment to appointment—which ranged from a chest X-ray to a stress test and even a new blood test that can detect more than 50 different types of cancers. (The Executive Health Program also offers neurological consultations, nutritional consultations, biomechanical assessments to test balance and alignment and more.)

“The whole process couldn’t have been easier,” says Darin. “For the stress test, I even had a Metro Car waiting for me at one point in the day to take me to Henry Ford Hospital.”

Afterward, Darin met with Dr. Keimig to review his test results. Luckily, everything was normal and Darin didn’t need to schedule any follow-up appointments. But if he had, they would have been scheduled on the spot.

“It was so satisfying to have all of my questions answered, to have time to go through everything with Dr. Keimig,” says Darin. “It was nice to get another viewpoint from a different doctor. The results were also put into MyChart so my primary care physician could see them.

“That’s the beauty of staying within the Henry Ford Health network—I appreciate having all of the data in one place so I can easily see trends in my health, which can help forecast what might happen next. That’s why I’m excited that GM partnered with Henry Ford Health on this program—I definitely recommended it to a few coworkers.”
