Henry Ford Cancer’s multidisciplinary HIPEC team includes nationally recognized and board-certified cancer surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, geneticists, pathologists and anesthesiologists who specialize in the treatment of advanced appendix (appendiceal) cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancers, mesothelioma and ovarian cancer.

Rupen Shah, M.D.
Dr. Shah is the director of the Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Program at the Henry Ford Cancer. He specializes in endocrine neoplasms, including thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal tumors, and surgical cytoreduction and HIPEC treatment for select stage IV cancers. He completed fellowship training in Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in New York.
David Kwon, M.D.
Dr. Kwon is the medical director of Surgical Oncology at Henry Ford Cancer. He specializes in the care and surgical management of patients with upper gastrointestinal malignancies, including appendix, gastric, duodenal, biliary, and pancreatic cancers. He completed fellowship training in Surgical Oncology at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Adnan Munkarah, M.D.
Dr. Munkarah is Chair of Women’s Health Services at Henry Ford Health. He specializes in ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer and vulvar cancer. He completed fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Michael E Ryan, PSYD
Dr. Ryan is the clinical director of Supportive Cancer Services and is the lead health psychologist for our HIPEC program, specializing in caring for patients and their families from diagnosis through survivorship.
Ira Wollner, M.D.
Dr. Wollner leads Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology and the Hematology & Oncology Fellowship Program at Henry Ford Cancer. He completed fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology and Geriatrics at the University of Michigan.
Nurse navigators
Tayna Kintz, NP-DNPKintz is a surgical oncology advanced practice provider at Henry Ford Cancer. She assists patients and their families from diagnosis through survivorship.
Jenell Puffer-Baldwin, RN.
Puffer-Baldwin is a surgical oncology nurse navigator at Henry Ford Cancer. She assists patients and their families from diagnosis through survivorship.
Supportive oncology
Susan Hill, MAPS, CSO, RDHill is a registered dietitian who leads nutrition services and counseling for patients with pancreatic cancer.
