Jeffrey A Genaw, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Jeffrey A. Genaw is a board-certified surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, bariatric surgery, hernias and gallbladder disease. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and works closely with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans that support the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Genaw earned his medical degree from Wayne State University after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan. He completed a family medicine internship at Beaumont Hospital–Dearborn before pursuing a residency in surgery at Henry Ford Hospital. He is board-certified in both surgery and metabolic and bariatric surgery.

Throughout his career, Dr. Genaw has been committed to advancing surgical care through the adoption of innovative techniques and technologies. His expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures helps patients benefit from smaller incisions, less pain and faster recovery whenever appropriate. He has extensive experience treating obesity and related health conditions through bariatric surgery, as well as managing complex gastrointestinal disorders, abdominal wall hernias and a variety of benign surgical conditions.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Genaw has contributed to surgical research focused on bariatric surgery outcomes, hernia repair, surgical quality improvement, patient safety and the use of emerging technologies to enhance surgical care. He is honored to partner with patients throughout their treatment journey and is committed to delivering high-quality care with skill, compassion and respect.
