Manuel L Brown, MD

Biographical Statement

Manuel L. Brown, MD, is a board-certified radiologist and nuclear medicine physician who serves as chairman emeritus of the Department of Radiology at Henry Ford Health. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed radiology residencies at Rochester General Hospital and the University of Michigan, where he also completed his residency in nuclear medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has combined clinical excellence with a strong commitment to academic medicine, physician education and leadership in radiology.

Dr. Brown's academic and research interests span cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal and oncologic imaging, with a focus on advancing diagnostic techniques that improve patient care. He has contributed to the evolution of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine through research, education and the implementation of innovative imaging technologies. In addition to his scholarly work, he has played a leading role in training radiology residents and fellows while fostering collaboration across clinical and research disciplines. His longstanding service to organized radiology has included national leadership positions, including president of the American College of Radiology, reflecting his commitment to advancing the specialty and promoting excellence in imaging.

Dr. Brown supports multidisciplinary collaborations that strengthen diagnostic imaging, education and clinical innovation at Henry Ford Health. His ongoing efforts are dedicated to advancing imaging science, mentoring future radiologists and improving the quality of care through excellence in academic radiology.
