Genesys Hospital Team Members File Federal Labor Charges Against Teamsters Local 332
GRAND BLANC, Mich. — Several Henry Ford Genesys Hospital team members have filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) against Teamsters Local 332 in connection with the union’s ongoing strike at the hospital.
While unfair labor practice charges are commonly filed by unions and used as bargaining tactics against employers during labor disputes, it is far less common for employees to file charges against their own union.
The following cases have been filed with the NLRB’s Detroit Regional Office:
- Case 07-CB-385052, filed March 31, 2026
- Case 07-CB-385062, filed April 10, 2026
- Case 07-CB-384943, filed April 14, 2026
According to the filings, the charges allege violations of Section 8(b)(1)(a) of the National Labor Relations Act, which protects employees’ rights to refrain from participating in union or strike activity. The law also prohibits unions from restraining, coercing, or intimidating employees who choose not to strike.
Based on the nature of the allegations and their relationship to strike activity, it is reasonable to assume the charging parties are registered nurses or caseworkers represented by Teamsters Local 332.
No findings have been made by the NLRB, and the allegations have yet to be adjudicated.
The filings are public records and may be obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request submitted to the NLRB.
