He has been recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions to sports psychiatry and his research into suicide, health disparities, and healthcare worker distress.
“I am honored for the opportunity to lead the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Henry Ford Health,” said Dr. Prabhakar. “I look forward to working with our talented team to enhance our services and continue providing compassionate, comprehensive care to our patients. Together, we will strive to meet the evolving needs of our community and set new standards in mental health care.”
In his new position, Dr. Prabhakar will build upon the department’s strong foundation. He plans to introduce innovative treatment programs, emphasize continuous improvement, expand access to mental health services, and continue the department's tradition of excellence in education and research.
